Hi All,

Iv been looking to the 2007 Beta with some interest and particularly
infopath. Im looking for a product that would let me provide a online form
based Purchase Order System. ie heads of department can generate purchase
orders on a central system that can then keep track of the details.

Infopath looks like a good foundation for creating this but im a bit
confused on where Sharepoint Services fits into the picture. Also where does
Forms Server fit into the picture.

If anyone hase created a system like this or can offer advice it would be
greatly appreceated..

Hello sransom,
Welcome to Infopath World

You can create this kind of Workflow/scenario's in the Infopath. Yeah
Sharepoint services is used to deploy the form to a central location so that
users(Who has permission to this sharepoint site) can fill out the form from
anywhere. But Infopath should be installed in this case on the Clients
machine.
But Forms server is introduced in Infopath 2007 version where the forms can
be filled out from the browser without having Infopath installed on the
Clients machine. Also note that there are list of controls which are not
supported in this Form server scenario.
