Looking for an MS application to handle our strategic planning

Hello there,

We are looking for a software than could handle our strategic planning
process. We simply need an application that will allow us to create,
execute, and monitor strategic goals and initiatives. Since the concept of
strategic planning is new to our group companies, I'm looking for something
that is simple to use, with user-friendly interface. The application must
have web access facility as well. Reporting is also a critical part of the
application we are looking for.

Does Microsoft have something that can do this?

Thanks,
Ahmad

Project Portfolio Server is the closest to what you need. However like all
these business tools, they work best when combined with good people and
processes. I recommend finding a partner experienced in implementing
Portfolio Server for best results. Good Luck!

Hi Ahmad

MS Project could be one of the tools required by your organization i.e if
you manage the strategic planning process as a project.

Arrive at the activities to be executed in the process, estimated durations
of the activities and the sequence of activities. Once this data is input in
MS Project, it will help ypu in planning, scheduling and monitoring strategic
management. Next step would be to do resource scheduling using the software,
to manage your manpower alongwith work. Further next step would be to manage
project cost through the software.

As an advanced usage of the software you could do 'what-if-analysis' by
changing data as per the requirement. Using the software you would be able to
view the impact of time, resources and cost attributes on each other and on
the project as a whole.

I hope it helps.
