Looking for Enterprise Software

We are a small consulting business (<15 employees) who
estimate construction projects, normally at an early stage
of design.

We would like to search for available enterprise software
tailored at our type of business that would also allow us
to use Access as a front-end for small custom apps, but am
unsure of how to go about it, other than starting at
Google.

I have developed several stand-alone apps in Access
successfully, but am trained as an Engineer, not an IT
professional, and the time investment to climb the
knowledge tree to develop new enterprise multi-user
software is daunting.

Any guidance you can provide would be appreciated.
