Dear Joe:
Books are good, websites are also very helpful, and newsgroups are utterly
essential, in my opinion! I would suggest the following:
Books (alphabetical order by author) :
Mastering Access (insert version #) Alison Balter
Beginning Access 2000 VBA by Sussman and Smith
Running Access (insert version #) by Viescas
The Access Developer Handbook (by Litwin, Getz, et. al.) is an essential
book for Access developers. However, a beginner might find it a bit
intimidating; I know I do!
If I had to pick just one... it would be Running Access by Viescas.. Others
might have different (and equally valid!) recommendations..
Web Sites:
www.mvps.org/access/ The motherlode!
users.bigpond.net.au/abrowne1/tips.html
www.lebans.com
www.granite.ab.ca/accsmstr.htm
members.rogers.com/douglas.j.steele/AccessIndex.html
www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/
This is a short list of sites that come quickly to mind; there are many
more!
In addition, I would also strongly suggest the rest of the Microsoft Access
newsgroups at:
microsoft.public.access... etc..
More than anything else, I have found the free answers offered by kind
experts in relevant newsgroups to be invaluable. I have had hundreds of
questions answered over the last year or two, and continue to be grateful!
Finally you might find the following useful (and possibly humorous!)...
