Microsoft State and Local Government Central region is seeking a Business
Productivity Technology Specialist (BPTS) to work in a pre-sales engineering
role focusing on Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and possibly other states in the
south central region.
The Business Productivity TS provides pre-sales technical leadership to our
Enterprise State and Local Government customers and sales teams. The
successful BPTS has deep technical knowledge in and operational experience
with Microsoft Office System 2003, InfoPath, Windows Sharepoint Services,
Internet Information Server, Biztalk and SQL Server. The position requires
strong developer skills and a deep understanding of Visual Studio.Net, XML
Web Services and enterprise application integration. The successful
candidate will also have strong communication skills, presentation skills,
and be able to articulate the advantages of Microsoft technology to senior
business and technical decision makers as well as front-line technologists.
Experience with competitive technologies is desired.
The BPTS has demonstrated an ability to establish strong relationships with
senior technical and business leaders within our customer base. The
successful candidate will have a proven ability to understand highly complex
technical and business challenges that our government customers face. The
position requires an ability to work well in a "virtual team" environment
and possess strong communication and leadership skills. The candidate must
be a self-starter who can take ownership of opportunities, working
independently and/or by assembling and leading Microsoft partners, other
Technical Specialists and Microsoft consultants as needed.
Job responsibilities will include:
Work closely with the account manager and other virtual team members to
develop winning technical strategies to increase adoption of Microsoft
technology.
Work closely with our customers to deeply understand their business.
Build "proof of concept" solutions that demonstrate that the capabilities of
our products ability to solve actual customer problems. This requires an
ability to lead a virtual team of technical and business colleagues to craft
the appropriate solution. Provide timely and useful feedback to the product
groups.
