Lookout installation without administrator privileges

I'm trying to install Lookout (search toolbar addon for Outlook) on my
work computer. My network user account can't install programs - for
that, someone has to sign on as administrator.
However, installing Lookout as administrator doesn't seem to install
the program for my user account. The files are there, but there's no
toolbar in outlook and the program doesn't even show up in the
Add/Remove programs dialog.
I know some programs, during installation, will prompt you to select
whether you want the program to be available for all users on that
computer, or just for the current user, but there wasn't any prompt
like that during installation of Lookout.

Any ideas for how to solve this, short of convincing IT to un-restrict
my user account?

Thanks,
Joanna

you should be able to have your IT department unrestrict some of the items
for your actual computer.

control panel --> administrative tools --> i think computer management;
check to see if you can defrag your computer or do a disk check. if you
cannot do that, you will not beable to install lookout, or other components
(incluidng windows updates, etc.)

your IT should beable to configure the system to allow you to run
applications, after the application has been run, then lock it out again.

enjoy lookout if you can get to work, but the general consensus is that the
toolbar no longer works.
