Hi everybody

I have a problem which i can't solve. I have a matrix as follows

A B
1 JJ 20/4
2 FD 17/4
3 JJ 18/4
4 FD 19/4

How can i write a code in column B below that return the first date that is
in column B in the matrix above so at it looks as the matrix below.
A B
1 JJ 20/7
2 FD 17/4

thanks in advande

=VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet1!A:B,2,False)

Assuming that your first matrix is on Sheet1, your second matrix is on another sheet, with the JJ in
cell A1.

Then copy down.

Hi,

Vlookup will return the first occurence of it

assuming your range of data is in B5:C8 you can use:

=vlookup(b12,b5:c8,2,0)
