Lookup in Task

I created a new field in Task but cannot use Find feature in this field to
search for a specific record. The Find feature works in the Subject field,
however.

Example: created new field, "Complainant." I tried to search in this fielf
for specific Complainant name, nothing comes up. Any data in Subject field
works. Appreciate any assistance.
