LOOKUP problems

I'm using the LOOKUP vector function to ascribe text data to numeric values
(e.g. returning "2a" for the number "15") successfully. I want to be able to
operate the LOOKUP table in reverse (i.e. return "15" for a value entered of
"2a") but it is not working accurately. I either get an error message or an
incorrect value from elsewhere in the LOOKUP table. The text values take the
form: 1c, 1b, 1a, 2c, 2b, 2a etc. Is this the problem?

You can also use VLOOKUP and use any order as long as you put FALSE or 0
as the 4th argument in the formula

=VLOOKUP(A2,{"1c",15;"1b",15;"1a",15;"2c",15;"2b",15;"2a",15},2,0)

as an example
