Lookup Wizard Error In Access 2000

P

Paul

Access 2k sp3 on XP Pro

When clicking next after selecting the table and fields
for my lookup table I get the error:

Automation Error
The Specified Procedure Could Not Be Found

Tried with a number of different databases and this error
always occurs. Reinstalled Office same problem. Help.

Hi Paul,

Try the following and after each test the wizards:

1- download and install the latest version of the Microsoft JET Database
engine http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;239114

2- re-register the file DAO360.dll
+ click Start > Run
+ type the following and click OK
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft
shared\dao\dao360.dll"

3- re-register the accwiz.dll
+ click Start > Run
+ type the following and click OK
regsvr32 "<full path name to the file accwiz.dll"

4- rename the files acwz*.mde TO acwz*.mdeOLD then reinstall Office

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.

Thanks for the reply Eric,

Have tried all four procedures with no luck, error
message stays the same.

Have also tried uninstalling Office 2ksp3 and
reinstalling office 2k original cd, also with no luck.

A problem with windows XP pro itself?

Paul

Hi Paul,

Before dealing with the OS do the following:

- Uninstall Office
- Delete the folder "c:\program files\microsoft office"
- Delete the registry keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office
HKEY_Current_User\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office

- Reboot the machine
- Reinstall Office

Paul

Eric,

Have done as you suggested but problem still occurs.

Have tested my office install on another similar machine
and the lookup wizard works fine, must be something on my
pc.

Paul
