Looping presentation with menu

I don't know if my approach will work but basically I want to have a
presentation that continuously loops - on the press of the esc key I
want a menu slide to appear that will provide hyperlinks to specific
locations within the looping presentation. The expectation would be
that the looping presentation would continue from this new starting
location until the next time the esc key is pressed. Is something like
this possible?

I am running Powerpoint 2002 on my desktop and 2003 on a notebook. In
both cases the operating system is XP Professional.

Put the looping part in a Custom Show. Have the menu link to the Custom
Show. When setting up the hyperlink, be sure to check the Show and Return
check box. Also, set the presentation to Loop Continuously Until Esc (in
Slide Show > Set Up Show).

other looping presentation? Also if someone was to esc back to the
menu slide but did not make a selection is it possible to after a
certain time frame have the custom show open again and restart the
looping?

Sorry about the repeating - something to do with Google groups.

I think I have a method figured out that takes some of your comments
and what I found on the other tutorial you referenced. I set up one
presentation slide with the menu on it. On that slide I have a
presentation object that is linked to the looping presentation. The
menu has hyperlinks to the looping presentation that go to various
locations. The menu slide has a custom animation that calls the
looping presentation after a time delay. So essentially I open up the
menu slide in presentation mode and if I don't make a menu selection
prior to the time delay that slide automatically opens the looping
presentation. Now I have the looping presentation going and if I hit
the esc key it goes back to the menu slide where I can select one of
the hyperlinks to go back into the looping presentation at a specific
location.

I think this works. I hope it makes sense.

It depends on which solution you are using, but with my suggested
solution, the menu slide and the looping slide are in the same
presentation. It's just that the looping slides are placed in a custom
show within that presentation.
