loosing back end link

Hello.

Does anyone have an idea why one client with a font end
copy (.mdb) looses it's connection to the backend on the
server each time the machine is turned off?

We are using Office XP on Windows98 and 2K.

Every time this user turns off their machine and turns it
back on the link to the backend cannot be found.

10 other users have exact copies of this front end, are
connected to the same backend and do not have this problem.

Any help or hints are appreciated.

The one user does probably not have permanent drive mappings. There maybe a
reason for that, so for that user, set them up with links that use UNC
(Universal Naming Convention). A UNC path should look like this:

\\ServerName\ShareName\FolderName\FileName
