Loosing Toolbars in Word

Office 2003 Pro
When I open a Word document, the Toolbars always default to include Email
only, Standard and Formatting are unchecked. So I have to manually select
them and deselect Email before I can work. Are these selections stored in
defualt.dot, I have tried reselecting and saving a new normal.dot to no avail.

Any ideas?

Try deleting and re-creating the Word Data registry key as described at
What exactly does the Data Key in the Registry store?

If that doesn't work, then you may have some software running that's causing
the problems. For example, the registry cleaner CCleaner has been implicated
in similar problems (see
