lose autotext in edited template

When I edit (using autotext entries) and email a custom-made template with
autotext that I stored in the document, the document that the receiver gets
does not contain the autotext entries I stored in the file. What can I do?

Are you sending the template or a document based on the template? Documents
cannot store AutoText entries. When you created the AutoText entries, did
you explicitly save them in the document template? By default, AutoText is
saved in Normal.dot.

I am sending a document based on the template. Yes, I did save the AutoText
entries in the template via "Organizer". So, are you telling me that there
is no way to send an edited document based on a template to someone via email
for edit and have the AutoText available to them also? My boss isn't going
to like that answer.... :). Thanks for your help.

I just had another idea....what if I send the file to him as a ".dot" file -
will that work?
Thanks again!

If you send the template in which you saved the AutoText entries, then yes,
they will be available. But saving the document as a template if it was not
created as one will not help.

I am going to try to save the original template as a template with another
name after making changes. I'll see if it works....thanks for your help.
