Lose Horizontal Scroll bar with zoom to 200% or higher.

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I am making a large poster 28"x20" containing several pictures inserted from files using PowerPoint for Mac 12.0.1. If I zoom in to one of the pictures to 200% or higher, the horizontal scroll bar disappears, and I can't navigate. Powerpoint 2004 doesn't have this problem. Has anyone seen this problem?
