Losing all row height formatting when copying a worksheet.

In Excel 2008 on a Intel mac running Leopard, when I copy a worksheet row height settings are not preserved in the copied sheet. All the row heights reset to the default height for the text in that row.

I also have this problem. When copying a protected worksheet I loose all row height settings and all hidden rows become visable, this defeats the point of having protected cells

The purpose of having protected cells is to prevent inadvertent changes
in them.

Row height is a property of *rows* not individual cells. To copy row
height, copy the *row*.

Protection really has nothing to do with hidden/not hidden, though
setting worksheet protection disables the Special modes of Go To...

To copy only visible cells, unprotect the sheet, choose Edit/Go
To.../Special, selecting Visible Cells Only, then Copy/Paste.

This is the way all versions of XL have worked since the beginning.

In addition, one should NEVER rely on internal protection for anything
other than preventing *inadvertent* changes. Bypassing protection is a
matter of a few seconds' work for anyone who has the wit to find these
newsgroups:

This problem occurs even with unprotected sheets. I can't copy a sheet, even within the same workbook, without losing all row height formatting. This is not the way any previous version of excel worked.
