Losing and bringing back "Language" to the tool bar

This is a mystery to me because I know it's happened before. I use
"Language" in the toolbar of Word on a daily basis, switching from
French to English depending on the text, and today, again the
"Language" choice in the toolbar has disappeared. I've been through
every possible (as far as I can see) choice in the "Customize Toolbar"
option in "Tools" and through every possible (as far as I can see)
choice in both "Toolbars" and "Commands" and even tried dragging "Set
Language", to the Toolbar option just under the bold list of commands
and still nothing. Can anyone help?

I've never managed to do what you describe here. The individual
languages are not listed in the list of commands you can use for
toolbars.

In Office X and 2004, I had a little VBA script that switched the
language from one language to the other (and I had a button for the
script on the toolbar).

In Office 2008, I replaced them with AppleScripts with in the Script
menu (with a shortcut) as described here:

The original post here mentioned having the languages in the *toolbar*.
I think it's a different issue Daiya. It's not the disappearing menu
issue,
Oh, right. Sorry for the mislead.

Corentin, just wanted to say thanks for the scripts. I had been looking for this. FYI I posted a link to your article to the transMUG translator’s mac user group on yahoo.
