Losing connection in Visio with embeded Excel object @autosave

Has anyone experienced this?

I have embedded Excel objects in my Visio files.
When editing the Excel object and autosave occurrs, the connection to the
Excel object is lost.
The file will not allow to be saved, have to lose all my work!

Is this when the Visio application does an autorecover save, or when Excel
does? Also, is your Excel object a linked / embedded file, or simply an
Excel object embedded in the Visio drawing, without connection to an
external Excel file?

I just did a quick test with a drawing that contains an embedded Excel
object unrelated to an Excel file, and it worked without a problem. I will
try it will a linked file embedded in Visio next.
