I'm having a problem where a merge document created on one computer will
lose the link to a data source when the document is copied to another
computer. The data source is always either a .csv file or .dbf file storred
in a consistently named folder on the C drive.
The problem occurs only on some computers, but seems to be consistently on
those same computers. It also seems to be more likely to happen with Word XP
as opposed to Word 2000.
Recently we've been linking picture files (inserting the links instead of
the picture) into documents and have been having a similar problem. When
this problem happens, I've looked at Edit|Links and have noticed that when
it works correctly, the link says "C:\Folder\Filename.jpg", and when it
doesn't work it says something like "..\..\..\Folder\Filename.jpg".
Does anyone know what may be happening here?
