Losing Nicknames when Outlook 2007 is not closed before shutting d

Using Office 2007. During the day, you can use Outlook and it will remember
nicknames created and used throughout the day. If you close Outlook the
nicknames get saved and the Outlook Default Profile.NK2 file gets saved,
however if you shut down the computer using Start | Shutdown without closing
Outlook first, the nicknames are not saved. Bug?

Not really. Forcing your OS to close Outlook instead of closing it yourself
has always been unwise--even more so with a new version that is still slow
in writing to its data files.

I guess my boss had doing it that way with his Office 2003 and didn't have a
problem, but apparently he is going to have to learn to do it correctly. I
will pass along your response. Thank you.
