"losing the source file"

I have several word documents merged to the same Excel
spreadsheet. About 50% of the time that I open these word
files I have to "re-link" them to the source file (I get
the message word cannot find ....).The rest of the time
the word file opens merged with the source file as it
should be. What's up? Any help would be greatly
appreciated!! Jim P.

One possibility: If you have moved the source files from one folder to another (or renamed the folder), word won't be able to find the files--it still looks in the original place

TJ. I did rename the folder that the Excel spreadsheet
was in. I thought that would not matter, that only
renaming the Excel file would matter. Guess I was wrong!

I am having the same problem with Access. ARe you using
Office 2002? (XP) Never had a problem in 2000 or 98.
Anyone know what's up?

This can generally be a problem with an Excel or Access
datasource. Especially if you set a filter in the
Recipients dialog box?

If you're having the problem otherwise, then try connecting
using DDE or ODBC instead of the default. You'll find
