I had to shut my computer down last night suddenly and have turned it back on this morning and found that my entourage has reset itself and the IT company hosting my email account have said that the emails werent being backed up to their server. Is there any way of retrieving my lost emails and information?

I'm not clear on what happened, but have you tried rebuilding the database? (Entourage Preferences > Spotlight > rebuild database). If they were local on your computer, you should get most of them back that were there before you shut down the computer. If they were on an exchange server - I don't know.

Typically this is the result of a user deleting, moving, or renaming the
Office 2008 Identity folder. Did you do one of those? Whether or not you
did, you should be able to restore a previous version from a backup,
assuming you make regular backups.

If you cannot find the Microsoft User Data folder when searching there are
two places it can be hidden.

Some AV will move your Microsoft User Data folder into quarantine. This
usually happens when you receive a suspicious message.

During a crash, the Finder could move your Microsoft User Data folder to
"lost+found" but it could also have deleted it. This is why you should
always try to save data and shut down applications before pulling the plug.

If you don't have a backup drive. Get one! Backup your data!!!!
