Loss of items work menu

Occasionally I lose all documents I have placed in the 'work' menu. They are
replaced by documents I have removed from the work menu, sometimes documents
going a ways back (a month or so).

I think this happens after a freeze when I have to restart, or power quit,
and boot up from scratch. The freeze isn't from Word2001 because I haven't
crashed in the app. for a long time.

Why? And how to remedy?

Hi Rafael,

I don't know if this will help but have you rebuilt your desktop recently?
You should do it at least once a week and after installing or removing
software.

Hi Beth,

It's been recommended to me to rebuild the desktop every 2 to 4 weeks. I'll
try one week and look at your troubleshooting url below.
