Loss of reference to users in mdw file after application of SP3

Application of SP3 caused client's Access 2003 front end to apparently lose
access to the users in the mdw file. The field in the query where the names
used to show up is now blank, while the rest of the fields in the query
contain the information expected. Yet, there are no error messages.

Any suggestions regarding how to proceed?

You'll have to show us the query that pulls the user information.
Without that, we can only guess.

I was unable to get to the query because of a missing reference problem that
prevented me from opening the copy of the client's database that I had. Once
I got past that problem, names were showing up again. So, I suspect that the
missing names was related to the out of date references somehow.
