what's MS's policy if you buy an upgrade to Office 2004 from Office2001 pay for then
purchase a PowerBook.
Your the only one that would use either.
Do you still have to purchase another copy even though both machines are yours and
you are the only that would be using them, and the only time they would be connected
in anyway together is if you connect them both to the same ethernet switch used for
you DSL Connection, so that you can transfer files over to the PowerBook you would
normally work on on the G4.
I need to pose this situation to MS for Office, Adobe for Acrobat 6.0.x, Macromedia
for DreamWeaver, and Intuit for Quicken.
All the files minipulated by these programs are associated with work I do with a
Non-Profit Corporation (Service Association) as Treasurer/Assistant WebMaster/ByLaws
and working rules Committe member/Convention Committee Member
The answers may decide whether I purchase a Notebook computer or not, would have to
plan for an additional $2K in investment it, just to be able to use it.

You’re welcome. This happens all the time. Sorry it was a shock to you,
but it’s easy to understand why it would be.
You deserve credit for your reaction too. I have known people to become
incensed that Microsoft would dare to charge “extra” for their software.
If you by any chance are connected to an educational institution, you
can get Office at a considerable discount. That’s something to know.
Best,
