Lost Access Password

I have just had a call from my brothers girlfriend who is trying to get into
an older access database at work, but the person who wrote it has forgotten
the password. Their IT guy says it's too hard to break, but she says he
doesn't know much about IT and i was wondering if anyone had any ways of
changing/finding/removing a main access password so they can access the
database? Any help would be much appreciated.
