Lost all formatting in Word 2007?

Hi there,

I just got a laptop with vista and I installed office 2007, adobe 8
professional, and endnote 7 (following directions online at endnote.com).
Everything was working really well until I tried to remove the field codes
(from endnote)...then it all fell apart.

Every macro from endnote, to equations, to page numbering totally left. For
example, when I ask for a page number I get this:

{PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT}

although, when I tried to cut and paste this info into my email, it only
copied "1". I assume that is from page 1?

I ran the office cd to repair the problem. It ran twice, restarted once,
with no help. Do you have any idea how to repair this problem?

Thank you,

Will

Yeah, you have switched on "View field codes". Look up "View Field Codes"
in the Help and switch it off again :)

Cheers

Well .....

I used WP 3.5.e (before a certain 900 lb Gorilla loomed over Corel and
made Corel see the light - but, that's neither here nor there).

Anyway a feature that WP had was reveal codes.

Hi Phillip:

Not to be confused with "View Field Codes". And Microsoft had nothing to do
with the demise of WordPerfect: I wish you would stop repeating that
nonsense :)

WordPerfect blew themselves out of the water all on their own, producing the
most truly horrid exposition of how to screw up a Windows interface in
WP5.1. This was right after AmiPro appeared to show everyone, including
Microsoft, how to get it absolutely right.

WP died, hoist on the petard of their own arrogance. Microsoft would, I am
sure, like to take the credit, but they really had nothing to do with it:
Word was not much better at the time. :)

Cheers
