lost BCM after B2tr?

T

Theodore Perkins

I recently updated from B2 to B2TR, but in doing so I lost all
access/function of Outlook 2007 BCM. Anyone know how to get it back? I tried
re-installing BCM from the Office 2007 downloads pages but it says I have
the wrong(!) version of Office.I also tried the repair function but it
couldn'r resurrect BCM either.I'm using Office 2007 Pro Plus on a fully
patched WinXP Pro machine.

BCM is an add-in for Office 2007 professional and the Beta 2 add-in is incompatible with Office 2007 B2TR. You need to to uninstall the old one and then install the B2TR version of BCM.

Hi Theodore,

If you go to http://microsoft.com/downloads, choose 'Office' from the left nav bar and then click the date column in the results to
put newest first the Business Contact Manager Refresh (B2TR) should be in early September dates.

Thanks to both Millie & Bob, that solved to problem and I'm up and running
again (I foolishly thought that the B2TR for Office 2007 Pro Plus would have
included the BCM update as well; but at least it is obtainable on MSFT's
site)

Since the BCM is an add-in to Outlook and not a program itself per se (ever tried installing *just* BCM?) the add-in for Beta 2 is incompatible with B2TR - there is a new add-in for that version. Makes perfect sense if you think about it.
