lost cd key

Hello...

I am trying to re-install my microsoft office 97, but
somewhere along the line, I threw away the cd key. Does
anyone know how to find that number. I can't install it
without the key, so I can't find it on my computer. Do
you know if it is listed somewhere on the installation
CD? If so, where?

A CD key frm anothers Office97 should work

The original CD Key was on a label stuck to the back of
the CD case that contained the original program CDs (it
was called the Product Key). If you no longer have the
original CD case, you may have to contact Microsoft
directly to get a new key, but I suggest that you try the
other suggestions mentioned here before you do that if
you don't want to pay for help. Getting MS help should
still be cheaper than buying a new license if the other
suggestions don't work. I hope that you registered the
software when you bought it the first time; it may make
it easier to prove ownership now.
