I'm trying to install office:mac 2008 but i misplaced the sleeve (which has
the product key label). I still have the box which has different codes on it
but none of them are 25 characters. Where can I find my product key?
There is some confusion over the Product Key and Product ID.
The Product Key also called CD Key is on a yellow or bright orange sticker
on the CD package.
The Product ID is given during the Setup Assistant process. The Product ID
will look like this: 11111-130-0001111-12345). It is used to register.
Registration is not required.
Is this the standard or Home & Student version? I know the standard version
only has the Product Key on the sleeve. This info is in an invisible file
and if you have not erased your drive you won't have to enter it again when
doing a re-install.
If you have lost the Product Key, then you can get a replacement from
Microsoft but you will have to furnish proof and pay a replacement fee.
Sorry!
