Lost Code for purchased Office 97 pro

How do I obtain a key code for a product that I purchased
and registers?

I uninstalled it since I upgraded the Office 97 Pro, to
the XP pro.. I need to reinstall to help work on a Access
97 format since my company only uses 97 files..
I cannot locate the case for my purchased copy from
Computer Reinisance 3 years ago.. How can I get the
code ? I cant afford to purchase a 97 version for another
130.00 when I already purchased >?

I really need to use the 97 access to allow me to meet a
project deliverable..

From a EULA standpoint you have no right to reuse the product you used as the
qualifying product for an upgrade on another PC. Try explaining what you did to
MS Product Support and see what they say.

Actually, if he uninstalls XP Pro and installs 97 Pro, and then upgrades
everything except Access back to XP Pro, that is entirely legal.

Now THAT'S an innovative solution! He still needs to contact MS since he no
longer has an Office 97 key...but it just might work. And if the need for
Access 97 goes away(God willing!), he can still upgrade to Access XP legally.

Salud!

.
As I stated, I purchased both full version...It was not
an upgrade to XP..I purchased the office 97 pro FULL
version 1st, and Purchased Office XP Pro full version 2nd.
These were installed on the same PC..
If what you are telling me is correct, you are stating
that I can buy a Toyota from a dealer and go back and buy
a Lexus without trading my Toyota in on trade, I cant
drive my Toyota anymore?
Now you tell me how that makes any sense ??

Make a copy of the Access 97 database file using a different name.
Try to open the new file in Access 2002. If I recall correctly, you will be
asked if you want to convert. Choose no and the file should open in Access
97 format.

Access 2003 has an option {Tools, Database Utilities} to save in Access 97
format. If I recall correctly, Access 2002 had the same option.

There's a page on MS web site that tells you how to obtain a replacement
product key, either search the news group archive (at Google.com, the
question comes up regularly) or run a search on Microsoft.com.

Your first post did not say that you had purchased the full version of Office
XP only that you "uninstalled it since I upgraded the Office 97 Pro, to the XP
pro". If in fact you have full versions of both versions, you can
install/reinstall them in any combination you like. Follow the advice of the
other posters to get a replacement key for Office 97. And next time state your
situation more clearly so everyone can understand the problem and help you
solve it correctly the first time.

Cheers,

The only problem is, you can save as 97, but when you open
th file, you cannot edit or make changes if the original
source was created in a newer version..
