lost customizations

I seem to lose the customizations I add to my toolbars when I quit
Excel. Any ideas? Thanks.

Might well be a prefs corruption. Have you tried trashing the "Excel
Toolbars (10)" (the number pay vary according to your version of Office)
file, to be found in the ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft folder?

Could be. I have a file named "Excel Toolbars(10)" and another named
"Excel Toolbars(11)" in this folder. Do I trash both? Or should I not
have two such files?

This means you have (had) the two versions of Excel (Excel X and Excel 2004)
installed on your machine. Trash the one you want to customize, or both.
