Lost Data on Timesheets

We use MPS2003 and recently lost several months of Actual time posted to a
project via PWA. The data lost was not discovered for a month, as most of
the time reporting is done at month end for accounting purposes. For this
project, there has been a lot of new resources added and assigned to project
activities. A lot of maintenance (new resources/assignments) was done by two
people (Project manager and System Admin) and it is likely such maintenance
may have contributed to the problem, although neither could have custody
(check out) the project at the same time. However, both may have posted
Actual time via PWA at the same time, although for different resources.

We check an archived version of the project in question and the lost hours
are showing on the archive project. While we can restore the older project,
we stand to loose all the new resources/assignments and "unAccepted" time
that is currently posted within PWA.

Any suggestions to recover these hours without having to repost all these
hours through PWA? Please help.

If it was my problem, I would write a VBA macro to copy actual work by day
from tasks in the archive project to the current project (suitably backed
up!) for a specified date range. Of course with my VBA skills this would
only take around a day's work!

Alternatively you can do some careful manual copying of actual hours from
usage view to usage view.

Rod:

Do you have a shell of a VBA macro that I might use to do the copy as you
described?
