Lost data?

I recently lost the video display on my laptop, so even though the computer
is "on", there is no display. Consequently, I want to transfer my data to my
other computer until which time I could get the video fixed.

I copied all the data files and preferences over, but none of the
information shows up. I just get a new "welcome to Microsoft..." message in
the inbox.

1. am I missing a step?
2. did I lose all the data from the source computer?

Help!!!!!

Yep,

Well I don't think so.

What you need is the identity in ~/Document/Microsoft User Data on the
laptop.
You need to copy it to the exact same location on the other computer,

Thanks. I did that and just checked again to see if was in the exact same
location...it is, to the best I can make out. Very frustrating.

In Entourage try the Switch Identity command.
You might have more than one identity in the folder and it defaulted on
the wrong one.
