Lost Disc

I own the upgrade version of Office XP and need to re-install it. However, I
have lost my Office 97 disc which is requested when I try to re-install.
Both were registered, and I have product keys for both. Any suggestions on a
work around?

Sorry, but Microsoft no longer replaces a lost or missing Office 97 disc.

My problem is not realaly the lost disc, but the fact that I can't reinstall
Office XP without it. Is there a way to diasable, or "trick", the the
"qualifying product" search? Or do I have to purchase a later (and more
expensive) version of Office even thoguh I have a perfectly good (and
registered) Office XP.

You find the lost disk, or buy on ebay or similar a qualifying app. I
daresay 97 can be had for a good price

Do you know anyone who has a disk that you could borrow, you could use their
disk to satisfy the requirements.
I'll probably get lots of pirate and illegal comments, but if you have
registered both and have product keys for both
I would use it, in fact I would copy it for the next time if Microsoft willl
not supply one.

Actually you only have 1/2 of a "perfectly good" version of Office XP,
and it isn't legit without the "qualifying software". You will need to
find your lost CD or get another "qualifying software" package.
