Lost "Edit" From Menu Bar

Hi,

I have lost "Edit" from the menu bar at the top of the screen. I went into
"Customize" thinking that I had solved this problem once before there, but I
can't and I need help retrieving "Edit".

Thanks,

Rafael

That's where it should be. Tools»Customize»Customize Toolbars/Menus
then click toolbars, then hit reset - the bottom jellybean button on
the right.

If that does not work. Google the group for "reset menu" for all the
discussions of similar problems.

All right, Elliott. That was simple enough. For some reason I'm always wary
of buttons that say things like "reset". In my Customize Toolbars/Menus
windows, in Word 2004 v. 11.2, the reset button isn't in the lower right
hand side, it's a third of the way down and next to and to the right of the
toolbars scroll bar.

Thanks. It's fixed.

Me too. You just know it is going to wipe out 40,000 customizations you
had forgotten you had made. ;-)

Sometimes I don't get Microsoft's approach to human interface. 99% of
the time it is saying "You pressed the hang-up button. Do you really
want to hang up? You pressed the yes button, do you really really want
to hang up? and then out of the blue, a bald "reset" without any
explanation of the consequences or lack thereof.

Hmm. Maybe by customize toolbars/menus has had some things go missing.
;-)
It is turtles all the way down.

phew!
