Lost ID # for old Office 2000

I have had Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business on my computer for 9 years
and I am trying to upgrade it. I don't have my CD ROM ID Number any longer
just the original disks. How can I use my 2003 Office Small Business
upgrade without my old ID #?

You won't need the Office 2000 product key for the upgrade. HOWEVER... If
you are going to use an upgrade on a 9 year old computer, you will find that
at some point you have to replace that system. At that point you will need a
qualifying product for the upgrade. Unfortunately key finders don't work on
Office 2000 so I would suggest you look long and hard for that number - I'd
be willing to bet that when it comes time to switch computers, you won't
have the time to figure out how you're going to deal with the qualifying
product issue.

I have a copy of office 2000 that I am trying to load on a new computer since
my old one unfortunately died. It comes up with an error reading file
d/Pfiles/OFFICE/1033/WW9ASUM.DLL. microsoft 800 is no help as usual - why
don't they just charge federal, state, and microsoft tax of $50 per year and
be done with it. I want to get the program to work so I can type letters. I
would prefer the old standard version that works fine than a new fancy
version ( i still use a 20 year old tv). Any advice?
