Lost IE History

F

ferdy

I run Windows XP / Office 2003 Small Business Edition.
I close Internext Explorer one day and all sites that I have visited are
showing. The follwoing day they are gone when I look into History and only
'Today' is showing. My IE settings are to 20 days history but something is
overriding this.
I have tried to work backwards from answers given to those people that wish
to delete their recent history, but I want to save mine.
I would appreciate help with this problem.

I apologise that I did not mention that I also lose all history of "Recent
Documents" every day.

Your issue is an Operating System issue, not a MS Office issue.
However. Do you have Power Toys installed?
If so, de-select the Paranoia option to clear IE history and Windows
Explorer history.

Sorry for using the wrong discussoin group. Reprimand duly noted and
understood. This is really quite a serious issue for me and I am sorry to
waste your time.
I am sorry but I really dont know what was causing this problem and as it
was happening in Word too, I am at a loss. I had looked up possible answers
through the discussion groups and thought it might be related to PowerToys
and TweakUI but I have searched through Cdrive and cant find anything that
might be PowerToys.

To access PowerToys:
Windows 98:
Start | Control Panel | PowerToys
Windows XP:
Start | All Programs | PowerToys for Windows XP

Thanks Steve but I had already done a comprehensive search of my C drive,
including hidden files, in all variations of phrases and parts of titles, and
wild cards that there are and I still cannot find any reference to Power Toys
or any of the individual toys. I have gone back through my history of down
loads and upgrades and I cannot find anything. I am completely stuck what to
do next.
