Lost keyboard shortcut assignment

ALT-M no longer does anything. For example, in the Style
dialog box ALT-M should be equivalent to clicking the
Modify button, but as of a few days ago nothing happens
when I click it, either in that dialog box or anywhere
else where it should trigger an action.

Clearly I accidentally redefined it, but I don't know how
to analyze and fix this.

Thanks.

In the Style dialog box, which character is underlined on the
"Modify..." button? If it's a different character than "M", try that
one instead.

Meaning: Try to press ALT plus that character instead!

If you *have* accidentally redefined it, it's easy enough to find out what
you assigned it to. Open Tools | Customize | Keyboard, select any command,
and press Alt+M in the box. The dialog will tell you what command that
shortcut is currently assigned to (unfortunately, it doesn't warn you what
Alt+ combinations are already used as menu or dialog accelerators), and you
can then go to that command and remove the assignment.
