lost liks form main form with access xp

if I manually change a name of a form/report I want a
button to branch to (in the vba code) all of the links in
the control buttons on that form will cease to function
later on after going in and out of design mode and
leaving the program the links resolved themselves with no
explainable reason

is there a solution ?
