lost mails from entourage 2004

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I have a question. My Apple recently stopped and I had to reinstall the complete operating system. Before that, I was able to made a copy of my hard disk at another external drive. The most important part was all my old mails which I stored in several maps at the location "at this computer". Unfortunately I did not make an archive.

After reinstallisation of the new operating system I also installed the newest version of office (2008). I wanted to copy back all my saved messages but could not find them anymore. I looked into the roots and found entourage 2004 map with all submaps (messages etc) but not the maps I made in the past. Do you have any suggestion how I can solve this problem and will get back all my previous mails?

Your question seems relatively simple except that I don't understand
what you mean by "maps". To the best of my knowledge, this is not an
Entourage term, but then again I am only exposed to the U.S. English
version of Entourage. Can you describe what you mean? Do you mean folders?

Entourage stores all your mail in one place:

~/Documents/Microsoft User Data

The " ~ " means your home folders. So long as you backed up this
location then you should be able to restore it to the same place on your
computer and see your old messages. You may need to go into Entourage
and select Entourage menu --> Switch Identity... to select the old one.
