lost menus and toolbars in Word 2000

R

Robin

I have lost sight and access to the main menu bar and all
toolbars in Word 2000. They are all still there in other
Office applications, but in Word I have nothing showing
between the file name title bar and the ruler, so cannot
work in any files.

Help! - anyone know how I can retrieve them without the
ability to open the normal customisation panel etc - or
anything else?

Thanks

1. With Word open, press F11. If that does not work, go to number 2.
2. Close Word - find and delete normal.dot and then reopen Word.

Thanks Milly. Had already tried 'esc' without success, so
tried deleting normal.dot. When I reopen Word it simply
recreates a new normal.dot exactly per the deleted one
with all the important bits missing.

I've even tried reloading Office, but it still doesn't
change - so presumably it is my settigns somewhere that
have been changed.

Any other ideas pls - getting desperate!

Thanks - Robin
