Lost Microsoft Outlook Contacts while using the Microsoft Active S

I was trying to retrieve information [Calendar and Contact info] from
Microsoft Outlook to my hand held device [ipaq] using Microsoft Active Sync
and in the process I somehow lost most of my Contacts from both the ipaq and
Outlook. I managed to get some of the contacts off of my hand held back onto
the Outlook. Unfortunately, not all of them came back on. Can anyone help
me?
