Lost my dictionary

I migrated Word from my old G4 to my newish used G5 and in the process
seemed to have lost my dictionary and grammar checker. I've got the original
install disk. Can I just do a partial install and if so, of what?

I doubt that installing anything is necessary. Check the various
spelling fixes here:

Thanks Daiya, that looks useful. I'll read it over when I get a break. I did
leave one potentially relevant issue out of my note though. I am probably
still running the version of Office that was on the computer when I bought
it and it's set up to be French Canadian.

The same principles apply. The thing is, your diagnosis doesn't sound
right--if you described the symptoms instead of what you think is
causing them, I could do a better job of pointing you at the right
information. There are lots of misconceptions about how
spelling/grammar in Word work.

Look in Applications/Microsoft Office [version #]/Shared
Applications/Proofing Tools/ to see if it holds any files for the
language you want to be using--that's the closest thing to a "grammar
checker" that exists.
