lost my disc - how do I reload office 2003

barbinNH

Hi
Lost my drive and just loaded a disc but don't think it loads the actual
software as I still get the initial query file asking if I want to buy 2003
or enter my 2 char code. Looks like the disc just loaded the setup files and
probably the registry. Need to load 2003 from microsoft server as I did
originally. How?

thanks much

You can no longer buy nor download Office 2003. If you didn't make or buy a
backup CD, there's not much you can do. "*Maybe* if you know someone who has
the exact same edition and version of Office you can use your product key.
Do you still have your product key?

That's the problem. Think I had the setup key in a file on the now "fried"
disc. Not smart. Wondered if there is a way to look up the key on
microsoft. I'm guessing not.

No disk + no key = up a creek

No, Microsoft can't look it up. Without the disk or the key there's no way
you can prove you had a legal copy. Unless you happen to have some sort of a
receipt.

JoAnn - I think that the Microsoft support keeps the current and one version
prior disks for replacement, but I could be wrong.
