Lost "My Notebook"

Changed the backup location in Options/Tools/Open and Save. Now my entire My
Notebook is gone! I can only access the backup folder which is all out of
order and can't be rearranged back to original format. Ideas?

Hi Griv,

Not certain, but you could try searching your hard drive for all *.one files
and then move them into your new save loacation.

If you open Windows Explorer, and go to My Documents, is My Notebook
still there? And its contents?

To expand on what Mike says:

Changing the path in Tools | Options | Open and Save merely changes the
location where OneNote will look for the files. It does *not* copy over the
files from their previous location. You have to do that manually.

If you combine what Mike suggests and what Andrew suggests, you will find
that all of your files are still in their original location, and after
closing OneNote, moving the files to the new location that you specified,
then reopening OneNote, all will be restored.

Mike,

<grin/> ... where *would* all sensible MVPs and others be between 1am
and 3am? :)

Glad we got you going again.

Oops, I mean Griv.

That's what I get for attempting a joke.

I had this same problem, except when I did that, there was no My Notebook
folder. I also searched my computer for any OneNote files and they were all
old backups . . . I don't know where the original files went.
