Hi Brian, I tried restarting Outlook with the /resetfolder and /resetfoldernames command switches (Start > Run > Outlook /resetfolder /resetfoldernames) and while it took longer to start (hourglass), it doesn't appear to have helped. I tried the /select foldername switch (Start > Run > Outlook /select Outlook:notes)and it opens to my current Notes. I agree that I have a default "Notes" folder, however is it possible to hide the default folders from the list view? I cannot see a Calendars folder either yet my calendar is working OK. Before I go too much further, I am accessing exchange 2000 for my email (don't know if that makes a difference). Thanks for your help Brian. Robin
