Lost Outlook Contacts when upgrading to Vista

Joe Anzalone

I have migrated the .pst file between different computers, Now, when I read
in the .pst file, I don't get any contacts data even though I don't receive
any error messages.

What bothers me is the size of the .pst file remains at 400 some KB, which
means the data is still there. But the contacts folder is blank. (I had
about 100 before the incident.)

I also lost all contacts from another user on computer and even though i
backed up info it still isn't retrievable.

Please help!

400 KB is the size of an empty file. State whether you backed up your data
and how you "migrated" your PST file. It appears you did not do so
correctly.

Russ,

Before upgrading I backed up all data on the PC to an external hard drive
using the CD that came with Vista. After upgrade i opened Outlook and ALL the
info was there. The next day when i opened it It wanted to start from
scratch??

Any ideas?

You'll need to post more detail. You've provided no additional information
here.
As long as you have your old PST file backed up, just configure your current
Outlook profile to use it. Methods are posted here frequently.
