Lost Product Key Code

Office 2000 Small Business came installed on my Dell a few
years ago. I want to load the programs on my new Gateway,
but I threw away the protective sleeve with the Product
Key code on it. Are those numbers somewhere on my Dell?

If it was preinstalled on your Dell then it was an OEM version and can only
be used on that computer.

No, Edward, it doesn't - stop giving her false hope. Paul is correct - an
OEM licence is forever tied to the FIRST system it was installed on and is
non transferable. If she wants Office on her new system she's going to
either have to see if the dealer will sell her an OEM (same rules apply) or
buy it retail.

You can only use that version of Office on another Dell or a hard drive that came from a Dell.
