Lost 'Recent Documents

I have Win7 and Word 2007

I had three documents in my Recent Documents. They were named Lesson 1, 2
and 3, respectively, in Document number 1. I then made a practice document
and saved it as I closed the page only to find that the latter is now the
only document showing in Recent Documents. The three missing ones are still
shown in 'Documents'. I am not fussed about the missing docs., but I would
like to know what I did wrong or are they hidden.

Well, I found them in WordPad and I copied them back to Recent Documents via
Word. I still do not know what happened, but I presume that it was because
I closed the document without saving changes.
